Karen founded Sparrow Therapy and Wellness in 2013 with the aim to make counselling more approachable. With this vision Sparrow Therapy and Wellness has a varied client base who work together with Karen and her team to reach solutions. A qualified therapist with a degree in psychology, Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy and CBT, Animal Assisted Therapy, Equine Assisted Therapy, Disordered Eating Treatment. Karen has experience in many different areas of the mental health industry; such as depression, eating disorders, anxiety, life motivation, work stress and bullying, low self-esteem and confidence. Karen has worked in different areas over the years however her main focus now is on helping people cope with stress and anxiety disorders such as OCD, social anxiety etc, helping to guide her clients through stressful or transitional periods in their lives and ADHD in women.
Karen incorporates her animal assisted therapy into sessions and also offers sessions in Pet Assisted Therapy, where you can gain techniques and skills on how your pets can help your mental health. Often in sessions Karen in joined by one of her dogs.
Offering a supportive and warm atmosphere, Karen allows the client to develop new coping strategies that can be used outside of therapy through all fascists of life. She believes that all aspects of lifestyle should be encompassed in therapy in order to reach optimum health and happiness.
Karens sessions are full cost however she offers a lowered rate for prebooked sessions.

Jennifer (Fee €60)

Jennifer has been counselling with Sparrow Therapy and Wellness since April 2018; following on from her degrees in counselling and psychotherapy and critical incident stress management. Jennifer completed her Masters in counselling and psychotherapy in 2020. Jennifer offers a one – to – one counselling service for a range of issues, such as depression, anxiety, relationships, stress and self-care plans for her clients, (18 years upwards).
Jennifer believes in an integrative approach taking into account a range of therapeutic approaches to help her clients with a range of issues, her foundation is in person centred therapy – therefore allowing the space for her clients to air their feelings in an empathetic and genuine space.
Jennifer also has experience in working with first response services, such as Civil Defence, Guards, Fire & Ambulance services, and has a passion for providing a safe, supportive space for those front line, caring working professionals to debrief traumatic and difficult work events.

Áine has been counselling with Sparrow Therapy and Wellness since 2019. She began her studies in counselling in 2007, completed an honours degree in psychology in UCD in 2016 and completed her diploma in integrative counselling and psychotherapy autumn 2020.
As an integrative therapist, Áine uses a person-centred technique. She provides her clients with a confidential, warm, safe, empathetic and non-judgemental space while her approach is one of compassion, encouragement and acceptance. Áine works collaboratively with the client and she believes that facilitating the client to explore past and present issues will provide them with an opportunity for discovery, growth, reconciliation and acceptance thus offering the potential for better relationships with themselves and others and a happier way of life.

Pádraig has been counselling with the Sparrow Therapy and Wellness Clinic since February 2021. He began his studies in counselling in 2017, qualifying first with a diploma and following that, a degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy in June 2022. He also holds an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Education from 2010 and has been working as a primary school teacher for over a decade. It was his passion for supporting students, teachers and parents within the school community that cultivated his desire to work at a deeper level with clients to make long-lasting changes. Pádraig’s other relevant qualifications include certificates in mindfulness, Havening and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) which he completed with NLP Ireland in the summer of 2018.
Pádraig primarily adopts an integrated approach that is underpinned by client-centred therapy. He has a special interest in anxiety, depression and stress management and as an experienced educator, Pádraig also has substantial experience supporting people in learning and developing a variety of different tools and skills to help them successfully navigate their daily lives. He is trained in a range of evidence-based therapies and collaborates with the client in order to develop a comprehensive and developmental understanding of the psychological processes that contribute to mental and emotional difficulties. This allows for an in-depth integrative therapy to be cultivated, enabling him to identify an effective therapeutic plan in order to affect lasting change and develop resources from within.
Pádraig’s main goal is to create a relaxed, calm, compassionate and safe space where every client can feel they are acknowledged, accepted and unconditionally supported in order to give them the best opportunity to make positive, lasting changes in their lives.
